Leontica is a small village and former municipality located in the canton of Ticino, in Switzerland. It is one of several settlements in the region that were affected by municipal reorganization in the early 21st century.
Administrative changes
In 2004 the municipality of Leontica was combined with neighboring communes to create a larger local authority. The merger brought together the following former municipalities:
- Castro
- Corzoneso
- Dongio
- Largario
- Lottigna
- Marolta
- Ponto Valentino
- Prugiasco
The new municipality formed by this union is Acquarossa, which now administers the territory that once included Leontica.
