Overview
Langdon Park is a station on the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) located in the Poplar area (Poplar) of Greater London. It lies on the Stratford–Lewisham line between All Saints and Devons Road, providing local residents with convenient access to the DLR network and onward connections across east and central London.
Layout and facilities
The station comprises two platforms serving trains in both directions. Its facilities reflect the contemporary DLR approach: sheltered platform areas, ticket machines, and passenger information displays. The design prioritises accessibility and local permeability, with step-free access to platforms to accommodate passengers with luggage, pushchairs or mobility needs.
History and development
Langdon Park was built to fill a gap in the DLR network and to support regeneration in the surrounding neighbourhood. Construction began in November 2006 and the station opened to the public on 9 December 2007. The station’s delivery followed consultation and support from local stakeholders who sought improved public-transport links for Poplar and adjacent communities.
Services and connections
The station is served by regular DLR trains on the Stratford–Lewisham corridor, offering straightforward journeys to destinations such as Stratford, Canary Wharf (via interchange), and Lewisham. In addition to rail services, Langdon Park connects with local surface transport options, enabling onward travel by bus and foot to nearby shops, schools and parks.
