Members and roles

• Abbath Doom Occulta – lead vocals and rhythm guitar; best known as the frontman of Immortal.
• Armagedda – drums and early black‑metal background, associated with the scene that produced Immortal and related acts.
• TC King – bass; linked to Gorgoroth and the Norwegian extreme metal tradition.
• Ice Dale – lead guitar; also a member of Enslaved and admired for melodic playing that complements the heavier elements.

The lineup reflects a blend of personalities from black metal and more traditional heavy metal, giving I a distinct sound that differs from each member's primary bands.

Recording and release

The group's only full‑length release, Between Two Worlds, was recorded and released in late 2006. The record emphasizes compact songwriting, clear vocal lines and a mix of aggressive and melodic textures.

Musical style and significance

Musically, I blends elements of black metal atmosphere and attitude with more traditional heavy metal structures and melodic guitar work. The result is a project that foregrounds riff‑based songs, memorable choruses and production that differs from the rawer aesthetics of many underground black‑metal releases. As a supergroup, I offered listeners a concentrated expression of its members' influences without attempting to replace the creative output of their main bands.

Legacy and reception

Although I remained a short‑lived project, it attracted attention because of the reputations of its participants. Critics and fans generally treated Between Two Worlds as an interesting offshoot rather than a major new direction for Norwegian metal.
