Overview

Hansje Bunschoten (3 May 1958 – 1 October 2017) was a Dutch freestyle swimmer who represented the Netherlands at international competitions and later became known as a television presenter in the Netherlands. Born in Hilversum, she attracted attention as a talented young athlete and went on to compete at the highest level while still in her teens.

Sporting career

Bunschoten was selected for the Dutch Olympic team that travelled to the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich, then part of West Germany. At 14 years old she was among the youngest competitors on the Dutch squad.
