Geography and natural features

Grundy County occupies part of the Cumberland Plateau, an elevated, heavily forested region of sandstone cliffs, waterfalls, caves and karst terrain. History and settlement

The county was formed in the mid-19th century and was named for Felix Grundy, a prominent Tennessee statesman.
