Al-Gharbiyya (Arabic محافظة الغربية, DMG Muḥāfaẓat al-Ġarbīya 'the Western', Egyptian Arabic Muḥāfẓet El Gharbeya), also Gharbia, is a governorate in Egypt with a population of 4,999,633, located in the center of the Nile Delta.
It borders the Kafr ash-Shaykh governorate to the north, the ad-Daqahliyya governorate to the east, the al-Minufiyya governorate to the south, and the al-Buhaira governorate to the west. The administrative center is Tanta.
Major cities of the governorate are Mahalla al-Kubra, Tanta, Kafr-az-Zayyat.
