Situated in the foothills of the Pyrenees, the area is characterised by rolling farmland, meadows and woodland patches. The local landscape reflects the transition between lowland agricultural plains and nearby mountain terrain, with roads connecting small settlements to larger market towns in the department.
History and administration
As an administrative unit, Ance followed the typical French commune structure with a mayor and municipal council responsible for local services. The merger with Féas was part of a wider national pattern of communal consolidation intended to pool resources and simplify local governance while maintaining local identity through the new combined municipal council.
Economy and local life
The locality's economy was predominantly rural, centred on agriculture, livestock and small-scale artisanal activity common to this part of southwestern France. Village life often revolved around communal institutions such as the church, the town hall and local associations that organise cultural and seasonal events.

Although no longer an independent commune, Ance survives as a named locality within Ance Féas and continues to contribute to the cultural and historical fabric of the region. For administrative, postal and statistical purposes it is now treated as part of the merged commune while retaining its local place-name and heritage.
