Elbasan County is one of the twelve first-level administrative divisions of Albania, located in the central-eastern part of the country. Its administrative centre and largest city is Elbasan. The county occupies a transitional zone between lowland river valleys and the inland highlands; its general position is often cited near 41°N, 20°E.
