Alfriston is a village and Civil Parish in the District of Wealden in the county of East Sussex, England. The village lies in the valley of the River Cuckmere, about five kilometres north-east of Seaford. The population was 829 at the 2011 census.

The village is visited by many tourists because it is a typical English village with its intact old centre. At the edge of the village near the river is St. Andrew's Church. It was built around 1370 and is also called "Cathedral of the Downs".

In 1931 Eleanor Farjeon wrote the popular hymn Morning Has Broken in Alfriston, ostensibly about the beauty she saw around her in that village. The song was later sung by Cat Stevens and also found its way into hymnals of the Anglican Church.
