Chris Hesketh MBE: English rugby league international and Rugby League World Cup winner
Chris Hesketh MBE (c.1944–2017) was an English rugby league international, World Cup winner and long-serving centre for Wigan and Salford in the 1960s–70s, honoured for his services to the sport.
Chris Hesketh MBE (c. 1944 – 10 August 2017) was an English professional rugby league player from Wigan. He was active in the 1960s and 1970s and is remembered as a member of a Rugby League World Cup–winning side.

Hesketh spent his domestic career with clubs including Wigan and Salford, appearing regularly throughout the late 1960s and into the 1970s. He became known for his consistent performances at club level over more than one decade.
Representative honours
At representative level he was selected for Great Britain and for England, and also represented Lancashire in county matches. His international appearances contributed to his reputation as one of the leading players of his era.
Personal life and death
Hesketh was born around 1944 in Wigan. He died on 10 August 2017. During and after his playing career he received recognition for his services to the sport, including the honour of an MBE.
