Chris Lake
Chris Lake (born 8 August 1982 in Norwich) is a British house DJ and producer from London.
Biography
Lake was born in Norwich but moved to Scotland where he worked as a postman for a few years. He released his first single Santiago De Cuba in 2002, but gained notoriety for his bootleg remixes of Prodigy's song Climbatize, Phat Planet by Leftfield and Sweet Dreams by Eurythmics, which he released under the pseudonym Cristophe D'Abuc.
In 2005, he released his hit single "Changes" with singer Laura V. The single reached number 27 on the UK Singles Chart in 2006, as well as number 10 on the Billboard Hot Dance Airplay Chart. In 2007, he produced the single Carry Me Away with singer Emma Hewitt. The single became a number one hit on the Hot Dance Airplay chart. He had two more singles, Only One and If You Knew, which also reached the top ten on the Hot Dance Airplay chart.
In May 2009, he released his debut album, Crazy. Most recently, he has collaborated with Sébastien Léger and Deadmau5 and has also been a sought-after remix artist. He remixed Robbie Williams, Kylie Minogue and Madonna, among others.
In 2014, he reached the charts of all countries with the instrumental Boneless. Among them the upper half of the charts in Germany and Austria. The track was created in collaboration with Steve Aoki and Tujamo. A few months later, the trio started working on a vocal version of the song. As songwriter they engaged the Canadian singer-songwriter Jenson Vaughan, as singer and rapper they brought Kid Ink into the studio. The remix got, among other things, an entry into the singles charts in the US and Canada.
Lake owns two music labels: Rising Music, under which he releases his own productions, and Rising Trax.
