Channahon is a village that lies in both Grundy County and Will County in the U.S. state of Illinois. It functions largely within the boundaries of Channahon Township and is regarded as a southwestern suburb of Chicago.

At the time of the 2010 United States Census the village recorded a population of 12,560 residents.

Location and community

Channahon's position straddling two counties places it within the greater Chicago metropolitan area while retaining a distinct local township identity. Much of the built-up area falls inside Channahon Township, which shares the village's name.
