Overview
András Schiff (born 21 December 1953) is a Hungarian-born British pianist and conductor who has built an international reputation for his interpretations of Baroque and Classical repertoire, notably Bach and Beethoven. He is celebrated both as a soloist and chamber musician, and has received numerous major awards for performance and recording.

Schiff was born in Budapest and received his musical training in Hungary before beginning an international performing career.
