John Francis Dunsworth (April 12, 1946 – October 16, 2017) was a Canadian actor best known for two television roles: the volatile, frequently intoxicated trailer park supervisor Jim Lahey on the long-running comedy series Trailer Park Boys, and the enigmatic reporter Dave Teagues on the supernatural drama Haven.

Career

Dunsworth worked in film, television and theatre over several decades. He attracted a wide audience through his performance as Jim Lahey, a character noted for his confrontations with the series' inhabitants and his complicated relationship with the show's other leads. His screen credits also include the television movie Shattered City: The Halifax Explosion, produced by the CBC.

Death

John Dunsworth died on October 16, 2017, in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He was 71 years old. In a statement reported to the media, his daughter Sarah said his illness had been brief and unexpected and described him as an "amazing husband, father and grandfather".
