Teruaki "Jimmy" Murakami (June 5, 1933 – February 16, 2014) was a Japanese-American animator and director whose career spanned television, commercials, short films and feature animation. He is widely remembered for his association with animated adaptations of Raymond Briggs' works, most notably When the Wind Blows, and for cofounding the production company Murakami-Wolf Films with Fred Wolf.

Murakami worked across a variety of formats and markets, from brief commercial spots to longer-form storytelling. His work is characterized by economical line work, hand-drawn techniques and a focus on human emotion; when adapting prose or picture books he sought to preserve an author’s tone rather than overwrite it.
