Cláudio André Mergen Taffarel (born 8 May 1966) is a Brazilian former football goalkeeper who gained international recognition in the 1990s. His full Portuguese name reflects two family names: Mergen and Taffarel. He represented Brazil at multiple major tournaments and was a member of the squad that won the 1994 FIFA World Cup.
