Bernard Louis Auguste Paul Panafieu (26 January 1931 – 12 November 2017) was a senior French prelate of the Roman Catholic Church who served as Archbishop of Marseille and was elevated to the College of Cardinals in 2003. He is remembered for his leadership in a large, diverse archdiocese and for pastoral engagement with social challenges in urban France.

Panafieu governed the Archdiocese of Marseille from 1995 until his retirement in 2006. During this period he headed one of France’s most populous sees and took part in national and international ecclesial meetings.
