Valendas, Graubünden — former Swiss municipality now part of Safiental

Overview of Valendas, a former municipality in Graubünden, Switzerland, its history and 2013 merger with Versam, Safien and Tenna to form the new municipality Safiental.

Valendas was a former municipality in the district of Surselva, within the canton of Graubünden in Switzerland. It was one of several small local municipalities that later took part in an administrative reorganization.

Merger and present status

On 1 January 2013, Valendas joined with the nearby municipalities of Versam, Safien and Tenna to create the new municipality named Safiental. From that date Valendas ceased to exist as an independent municipal administration and became part of the larger Safiental municipality.
