Stratford is a town on the northern shore of Long Island Sound in Fairfield County, Connecticut, founded by Puritan settlers in 1639. It is part of the greater New Haven–Bridgeport metropolitan area and had a recorded population of 51,384 at the 2010 U.S. census.
