Raymond Dyral Mathews (February 26, 1929 – December 20, 2015) was an American football player who combined roles as a running back and a wide receiver. He spent the bulk of his professional career in the National Football League serving primarily with the Pittsburgh Steelers from 1951 to 1959 and finished his NFL playing days with the Dallas Cowboys in 1960. Mathews played his college football at Clemson University and was born in Dayton, Pennsylvania.
