Character and collections

History and site

Pairi Daiza developed on grounds with earlier uses and at one time was known under the name Paradisio. Over years of expansion it incorporated elements of historic architecture and garden design; remnants of the former Cambron Abbey are part of the grounds and have been retained as features within the park. The site has been privately managed and expanded with themed garden projects and new habitats.
