Lyudmila Verbitskaya (née, Людмила Алексеевна Бубнова; October 17, 1936 – November 24, 2019) was a Russian linguist and teacher. She was president of Saint Petersburg State University. She was born in Leningrad.
Verbitskaya was rector (1994-2008), and then president (2008-2019) of Saint Petersburg State University. She also was the chair of the Russian Academy of Education from 2013 through 2018.
Verbitskaya died in St. Petersburg on November 24, 2019 at the age of 83.
