Career and roles

Johansen began his professional journalism career in the 1950s and held roles in several major Norwegian news organizations. His positions included reporting and editorial work at the newspaper Morgenposten (1956–1966), a period during which he developed a reputation as a reliable reporter. He then joined the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (NRK) in 1966 and worked there until 1977, serving as a foreign correspondent and producing international reportage. In 1977 he became chief editor of the national newspaper Dagbladet, a post he held until 1984.
