Club career and playing profile

Puerta spent his senior career with Sevilla, appearing across the left wing and at left back. In August 2007 Puerta collapsed during a La Liga match after suffering a cardiac arrest on the pitch. He was initially resuscitated and taken to hospital, but complications followed and he died a few days later.
