It helps develop and showcase aerospace activities in and around Toulouse, and supports the spread of best practice across other institutions in France as well as cooperation initiatives toward Europe.

History and organization

Established in the mid-1990s, ISSAT was created to respond to a growing need for structured education and skills coordination in a fast-evolving space sector. Its membership brings together higher education institutions, research centers and industry partners: the institute currently comprises 13 member organizations that collaborate on curricula, research training and applied projects.
