Ingvar Lidholm — Swedish composer and radio music leader

Life and career

Lidholm served for a time as a conductor in Örebro before moving into roles that emphasized programming and commissioning new music. In 1956 he left his conducting post to lead the Chamber Music Department at Swedish Radio, a position that placed him at the center of contemporary music presentation and helped foster younger composers and performers. He died in Stockholm, Sweden, in 2017 at the age of 96.
