Claes Borgström

Career and official roles

Borgström served as Sweden's Equality Ombudsman (JämO) from 2000 until 2007. In that capacity he supervised the enforcement of laws against gender discrimination, handled complaints, and promoted public awareness of equal treatment in workplaces and public life. Before and after his term as ombudsman he practiced as a civil lawyer, often taking on cases with social or political dimensions.
