Geography and landscape

The parish occupies steep slopes, alpine meadows and pockets of coniferous forest typical of the northern Alps. Elevation and exposure produce a pronounced mountain climate with cold winters and mild summers. Traditional farming uses seasonal alpine pastures; from many locations there are extensive views across the valley and of neighbouring mountain groups. Hiking trails and marked routes connect hamlets, pastures and viewpoints.

History

Settlement in the Bürserberg area grew around alpine agriculture, forestry and local mountain transit. The community shares the historical development of Vorarlberg, shaped by rural parish institutions and by integration into modern Austrian administrative structures.
