Michael Gove (born 26 August 1967) is a British Conservative politician and cabinet minister. He has served in several senior posts across successive governments and is the Secretary of State for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities since 25 October 2022. He is a prominent figure in contemporary UK politics, known for driving education reform and taking visible roles during the Brexit era.

Before entering Parliament, Gove worked as a journalist and author. He studied at university and built a career writing on public affairs, which shaped his public profile and political interests.
