John William Oliver (born 23 April 1977) is an English comedian, writer, producer, political commentator, actor and television host. In 2014, Oliver began hosting the HBO series Last Week Tonight with John Oliver.
Oliver's work in Last Week Tonight has become very popular. His work has had a large impact on American culture and politics, which has been called the "John Oliver Effect".
In 2019, he was the voice of Zazu in the 2019 drama-live action remake The Lion King.
