Gary Peters (born December 1, 1958) is an American politician serving as the junior United States Senator from Michigan. A member of the Democratic Party, he previously represented Michigan in the U.S. House of Representatives and held elected and appointed positions in state and local government before moving to federal office.

Peters entered public life through state and local roles, later winning election to the U.S. House. He served as the Representative for Michigan's 9th congressional district from 2009 to 2013.
