Gary Faye Locke (born January 21, 1950) is an American lawyer and Democratic politician who served as Governor of Washington, U.S. Secretary of Commerce and U.S. Ambassador to China. He has been widely noted for breaking ethnic barriers in U.S. politics as the first governor of East Asian heritage and the first Chinese American to serve as U.S. ambassador to Beijing.
