Bernalillo is a town in Sandoval County, New Mexico, United States. As recorded in the 2010 census the town population was 8,320. It is the county seat of Sandoval County. Bernalillo lies in the Middle Rio Grande valley and is commonly considered part of the Albuquerque metropolitan area.

Geography and environment

Located just north of Albuquerque, Bernalillo occupies a stretch of the Rio Grande floodplain and nearby uplands. The town's setting combines irrigated agricultural land, residential neighborhoods and open desert.
