Geography and climate

Westmoreland occupies coastal plains and low limestone hills facing the Caribbean Sea. The parish includes extensive sandy beaches, rocky headlands and sections of dramatic cliff coastline. History and development

Originally inhabited by indigenous peoples, the area came under Spanish then British control during the colonial era.
