Vaudry — former commune in Calvados, Normandy

Geography and landscape

Located in the western part of the Calvados department, Vaudry occupied countryside characteristic of Normandy: gently rolling fields, hedged plots known as bocage, and a mixture of pasture and orchards. The proximity of the town of Vire provided the nearest urban services and transport links, while the surrounding area remains largely agricultural with small lanes connecting neighbouring villages.

History and administrative change

Like many small settlements in Normandy, Vaudry has roots that stretch back through the medieval and modern periods as an agricultural community.
