Syed Muhammad Fazal Agha

Political career and offices

Agha held a number of prominent posts during his career. He was elected Deputy Chairman of the Senate of Pakistan and served in that capacity from 1988 until 1991. The Deputy Chairman is the second presiding officer of the upper house of Pakistan’s Parliament and is responsible for chairing sessions in the absence of the Chairman and for assisting in legislative management.

Syed Fazal Agha died on 20 May 2020 in Karachi after contracting COVID-19.
