The village occupies the lower reaches of the Saastal, facing the high wall of the Mischabel group. Nearby peaks include the Lenzspitze and the Dom, which form part of the dramatic skyline above the valley. History and development

Historically the community relied on alpine farming and seasonal pasture use.
