Ronald Maxwell "Ron" Hall (11 November 1945 – 26 June 2014) was an Australian rules footballer from Tasmania who became one of the better-known players in northern Tasmania during the 1960s and 1970s. He spent the main part of his senior playing career with Scottsdale Football Club and was regularly selected to represent the state in interstate matches.

Playing career

Hall's senior career was centred on Scottsdale, a club based in the north-east of Tasmania. He featured prominently through the 1960s and into the 1970s, earning a reputation for consistent performance at club level. His form led to multiple selections for Tasmanian representative sides, the highlight being his participation in the 1969 Adelaide Carnival, a major interstate competition of the era.

Representative honours and recognition

Because of his state appearances and long service to Scottsdale, Hall received later recognition for his contribution to Tasmanian football. He was inducted into the Tasmanian Football Hall of Fame in 2008, an honour that acknowledges players, coaches and administrators who have made a lasting impact on the game in the state.

Later life and legacy

His ongoing involvement reflected a common pattern in community football: former players remaining active volunteers, mentors and club custodians.
