Préaux-Saint-Sébastien was a small French commune located in the Calvados department in the northwest of France. It lay within the territory of the former region of Basse-Normandie, which is now part of the larger Normandy region after the territorial reorganization of 2016.
Location
The locality is situated in the rural part of Calvados and was administered as a basic municipal unit (a commune) under French territorial divisions. Its position in northwestern France placed it among the agricultural and bocage landscapes typical of the area.
Administrative change
On 1 January 2016, Préaux-Saint-Sébastien ceased to exist as an independent municipality when it was merged into the newly created commune of Livarot-Pays-d'Auge. This change formed part of a wider consolidation of small communes intended to simplify local administration.
