Organization and home venues

The Palestinian Football Association administers the national team, selects players and arranges fixtures. Home fixtures are most often staged in stadiums in the West Bank, including facilities near Ramallah and Jerusalem, though security and travel restrictions have sometimes required matches to be played at neutral sites or abroad. The squad draws players from domestic leagues and from Palestinians in the diaspora.

Modern international participation expanded late in the 20th century. The Palestinian Football Association gained recognition that allowed the team to enter FIFA and AFC competitions.
