Geography and administration

The village is dominated by a prominent wooded hill (a "puy", from a regional term for a rounded elevation) that offers viewpoints over surrounding olive groves and farmland. Administratively it is organised as a French commune, with local municipal government responsible for everyday services, planning and cultural events.

History and name

The name combines the topographic word "puy" and a dedication to Sainte Réparade, linked historically to a chapel or shrine on the hill. Like many Provençal settlements, its origins are medieval and tied to agriculture, relief from feudal centres, and local religious sites that shaped communal identity.

Economy, culture and points of interest

Local life blends agriculture — vineyards, olive cultivation and small-scale farming — with commuter and service activities connected to nearby Aix-en-Provence. Visitors are drawn to walking trails, hilltop views, village streets and seasonal markets and fêtes that celebrate Provençal food, crafts and traditions. The communal church and chapel sites reflect the historic religious heritage of the area.
