Overview
Forel-sur-Lucens was a small rural municipality in the French-speaking part of the Swiss canton of Vaud. Administratively it belonged to the district identified as Broye-Vully and was situated within the national context of Switzerland. On 1 January 2017 the village was incorporated into the neighboring municipality of Lucens, ending its independent municipal status. The settlement retains a village character and local identity despite that administrative change.

Set amid agricultural fields and rolling hills typical of the region, Forel-sur-Lucens lies close to the small urban center of Lucens and is connected by local roads to nearby villages. History and governance
The village historically functioned as a communal, agrarian settlement with local institutions such as a parish church and communal land management. Like many small Swiss communes, it experienced administrative reorganization in the 21st century driven by aims of improving public services and reducing administrative costs; this led to its merger into Lucens in 2017. The change transferred municipal responsibilities—planning, schools and local services—to the larger municipal council while local traditions and community groups continued.
