Overview

Eschenbach is a municipality in the See-Gaster area of the canton of St. Gallen in northeastern Switzerland. The present municipality is the result of an administrative consolidation: on 1 January 2013 the former municipalities of Goldingen and St. Gallenkappel were merged into what is now called Eschenbach. It functions as a local centre for surrounding villages and farmland while remaining largely rural in character.

Eschenbach occupies a landscape typical of the region: gently rolling hills, mixed farmland and small woodlands, with scattered villages rather than a single dense urban core.
