Chésopelloz (Tsèjopèlou ) was a former municipality in the district of Saane (Sarine) within the canton of Fribourg, Switzerland.
Overview
Until the start of 2017 Chésopelloz existed as an independent local authority. It was a small, predominantly rural community located close to the city of Fribourg and neighbouring communes in the Sarine valley. On 1 January 2017 the municipality was incorporated into Corminboeuf, ending its status as an autonomous municipality.
Administration and merger
The incorporation of Chésopelloz into Corminboeuf was part of a municipal reorganisation carried out through cantonal procedures. After the merger, local administration and services became the responsibility of the enlarged commune of Corminboeuf.
Language and identity
Locally the place name is given in Arpitan ( Franco-Provençal ) as Tsèjopèlou. The area forms part of the bilingual cultural region of Fribourg, where French is the dominant language but regional dialects such as Arpitan have historical significance.
