Andrew Bor (born 14 April 1963) is an Australian skier who has worked as a ski coach and as a sighted guide for athletes with visual impairments. He was born in Australia and has been involved in alpine events both as a competitor and as a guide for other racers.
Work as a sighted guide
As a sighted guide, Bor skis ahead of or alongside a visually impaired athlete and gives verbal directions to help them negotiate the course. This role requires close communication, precise timing and strong skiing ability so the guide can lead safely at race speeds.
Major competition results
Bor served as the guide for Melissa Perrine at the 2011 IPC Alpine Skiing World Championships. Together they achieved podium finishes in multiple events at those championships:
- Second place in the women's visually impaired downhill
- Third place in the Super-G for the visually impaired
- Third place in the Super Combined for the visually impaired
