Overview
Thomas "Tom" Prichard (born August 8, 1959, in Pasadena, Texas) is an American professional wrestler, trainer and former backstage producer. Across a multi-decade career he performed for regional promotions and major companies, later working behind the scenes to help develop new talent. He is widely recognized for his tag team work and for his role in WWE's developmental system.
Ring personas and tag teams
Prichard spent much of his in-ring career as a tag team specialist. He is best known for two distinct identities: as part of teams billed as The Heavenly Bodies, which operated in several regional promotions under veteran managers, and as "Zip" of The Bodydonnas in the World Wrestling Federation during the 1990s. The latter gimmick emphasized a fitness-centered character and featured prominent television exposure.
- Heavenly Bodies — a tag-team name associated with Jim Cornette's management in multiple territories.
- The Bodydonnas — the WWF fitness tag team, managed on-screen by Sunny; Prichard used the name Zip for this role.
Career development and backstage work
After years of in-ring activity, Prichard moved into training and production. He worked with WWE's developmental programs, coaching younger performers in the ring and helping prepare television matches. His instructional and producer work made him a respected figure among wrestlers who came up in the late 1990s and 2000s.
Background, influence and later events
Born and raised in Texas, Prichard is part of a wrestling family: his brother Bruce Prichard is a longtime wrestling personality and on-screen character. Tom Prichard's influence is most visible through the tag-team style and the students he coached. He was released from WWE in 2012, after which he appeared intermittently on the independent circuit and in various training roles.
