Peter Franklin Hansen (December 5, 1921 – April 9, 2017) was an American actor whose most prominent screen work was on daytime television. He is best known for portraying the lawyer Lee Baldwin on the long-running soap opera General Hospital.
Career and role history
Hansen first assumed the role of Lee Baldwin in 1965 and returned to it repeatedly over several decades. His appearances as the character occurred during these periods:
- 1965–1976
- 1977–1986
- a brief return in 1990
- 1992–2004
In recognition of his work in daytime television, Hansen received a Daytime Emmy Award in 1979. In 1997 he also brought the Lee Baldwin character to the companion series Port Charles, remaining on that show until he retired from acting in 2004.
