Biography and honours
Career and role in The Wiggles
Cook was one of the original members when The Wiggles formed in the early 1990s. In the group he was identified by his red costume and was often called the "Red Wiggle." His principal role was guitarist and vocalist; he also contributed regularly as a songwriter and arranger for the group's many albums and stage productions. The Wiggles combined music, movement and simple stories to produce content aimed at preschool children, and Cook's musical background helped shape their pop- and rock-inflected approach to children's songs. Early life and musical background
Before joining The Wiggles, Cook played in Australian rock and pub bands during the 1980s. That experience gave him a grounding in live performance and popular songcraft which he later adapted to a child-focused repertoire. His transition from mainstream rock to children's music is an example of how performers can repurpose skills and stagecraft for educational and family entertainment contexts. Early career
