Michael Dean Cohen (born August 25, 1966) is an American attorney and convicted felon of Jewish descent. He worked as a lawyer for Donald Trump from 2006 until he was fired in May 2018.

Cohen was a vice-president of the Trump Organization and special counsel to Donald Trump, and was co-president of Trump Entertainment and was a board member of the Eric Trump Foundation.

As of April 2018, he has been under investigation by federal prosecutors on multiple matters, including bank fraud, wire fraud and campaign finance violations due to payments made by him in the Stormy Daniels–Trump scandal. The investigation led to him pleading guilty on August 21, 2018 to eight counts of campaign finance violations, tax fraud, and bank fraud. On December 12, 2018, Cohen was sentenced to three years in prison.
