Jean-Claude Carrière (French: [ka.ʁjɛʁ]; 17 September 1931 – 8 February 2021) was a French novelist, screenwriter, actor, and an Academy Award honoree. He was president of La Fémis, the French state film school. Carrière was known for his works with Luis Buñuel on the screenplays of Buñuel's late French movies.
Carrière died in Paris on 8 February 2021, aged 89.
